"Bradford's choreography wrestles with assumptions about body shapes and sizes. With pragmatic rebellion, Bradford pushes back against the deeply ingrained absurdity that body size determines excellence or lack thereof. She aims to liberate performing bodies. She is invested in a radical dance body reflecting real life. She insists on inclusion without tokenization. We hear triumphant sounds of bodies thumping, see stretch-marked bellies jumping. Thighs slap against each other, and arms jiggle. These bodies are familiar, recognizable to many of us. She argues that this is the future of dance—the freedom to be at home in one's body, to find comfort and belonging, as a performer or as a viewer."
